This place is a gem....in the Thumb, you won't find a better meal or a better view. I live nearby, and am a huge fan of Chef Clint and his wife Charity, and what they have brought to our humble county. Everything is prepared fresh, they don't use frozen foods. Make their own dressings, and use locally caught fish and locally raised chickens. Local and in season veggies are used, so the nenu is always fresh. I enjoy cooking, and know just how much effort goes into cooking like this...from the scrumptious sauces to the delicate desserts, it's prepared with care. My personal favorite is the pan sauteed lake perch, with buerre blanc sauce. It is simply the best perch I've ever had. My hubby loved the risotto so much, he wanted me to make it at home. For the amount we would eat, I convinced him we should enjoy it here instead. Quite often I try to decipher the ingredients and preparation, so I can "knock off" the meal at home. This place is so wonderful, and nearby, I'd rather just come and enjoy someone else cooking! The comments below about the color and decor....really? It's beautiful, fresh and updated, and you feel transported out of the Midwest and to an coastal village out East. If you're wondering where to eat in the Thumb, it's no contest....eat here.

A great find and something of a gem for the area. We've been here several times (near our summer place in Lexington). I've always had good food, thoughtfully prepared, with attention to detail in the sauces and side dishes. In reading some of the reviews below, I'm very surprised. We're from Manhattan so used to a different food vibe. I mean, come on, someone complained because the menu changes ??? What??? It's seasonal and local! That's a good thing! Who complains about the wall color in a restaurant, but I see that mentioned a time or two here. Reminds me of the people who look at a new house and don't buy it because they don't like the color of the PAINT. The only thing I would suggest to the owners, and this may be because I'm from New York, is that the servers should be better trained. They're friendly and bring out the food hot and fast, but a little more training and professionalism would be nice. The food and drinks are very good, the wine list is CHEAP, and good, the view is AMAZING. They make their own butter, they make all their dressings and sauces from scratch, the carrot cake has buttercream cream cheese icing...need I say more? Go...just go...you'll see!

Uri's is a weird place to me. The chef there clearly knows what he's doing and seems to be making efforts to pull off 4 star food. I felt like a food critic seeing some of the dishes they've got there. Presentation is definitely not lost on Uri's. We got the crab taquitos as an appetizer and damn were they good. Looked good and tasted good. The other meals here seem to be slightly inventive takes on standard food that you'd expect in a place like this. Most items seem to have a little extra here or there to keep the cuisine from just being bland Big Boy type fare. We had to wait 10 minutes to get a table. Not because there was a wait; there was just no one at the front of the restaurant. We were about to leave when someone finally stopped by and said "oh, the hostess will seat you in a minute." Our waitress was lacking at best. Never came around for water refills, slow with the bill and takeout boxes, waited forever between drinks and appetizers, etc... I think if this restaurant got some fresher decor and somehow renewed the vigor of their waitresses this place could definitely be the place to go in the thumb for a bit of finer cuisine and a nice view.

The current owners of Uri's Landing have had the restaurant since 3/14. They've done a wonderful job of redecorating, even to the point of replacing the windows to give a better view of the harbor. You have to climb a tall set of stairs to get inside but there is an elevator accessible from the south side of the building. Our waitress was excellent, very attentive and helpful. She brought us some warm rolls to tide us over as we waited for our meals and kept our water glasses full. The chef takes great pride in the dishes they serve and the menu has enough variety to satisfy just about everyone. I ordered the BBQ Chicken Flatbread and asked for a different sauce which they willingly provided. Altogether a pleasant experience.

Stopped here for lunch on our way up to Harbor Beach on the boat. I had a Bacon cheddar burger for lunch and it was defiantly filling but wasn't the most flavorful burger ever. It came with chips and obviously the burger. Good views, nice waitress and reasonable price.

When we first walked in I was unsure of this place, but the food sold me. It was all fresh and delicious! The waitress said the made all of their own dressings. We all had fish, and chowder. Oh man, the chowder was so good! Each meal came with bread, soup, rice, and fresh corn. It was a ton of food and so tasty. We all liked the Lake Perch best. Our waitress was great the first night. She told us about the dishes and beers they had. The second night we had a different waitress and she seemed disinterested in us. We had seen someone order a cotton candy martini, and the bartender came over to serve it. Great presentation! The decor was ugly, but I heard they are moving to a new location. Hopefully they get a makeover so that their restaurant can match their awesome food.

This is a great location, right on the water at the marina. It's a pretty nice view being that the restaurant is upstairs. The visual aspect of this restaurant is a bit weird. It's a hideous blueish green color that just doesn't work for me. They also have some hideous artwork on the wall that is supposedly the bone structure of a fish (or something). It's just not too wonderful. BUT, the place is clean and decent. The service my family and I had was really good. We had a nice young lady who catered to our every need. The food? Well, it's average at best. First off, the menu is weird. It appears they can't make up their mind what kind of a restaurant they want to be. I had meat loaf. It looked wonderful. Whoever does the plating truly has an eye for making food look wonderful. However, the meatloaf was about average at best. My mashed potatoes obviously had an ingredient that was different and it was unfortunate, because it took away from the flavor of the potatoes. They were ok though, just not great. I did have a buffalo chicken soup which was stellar !!! All in all, I'd like to give this place a 3 1/2 stars, but the site doesn't afford that. In good conscience, I can't give them 4 stars...the food just wasn't good enough for that.

Ordered the Drunken Mussels, Perch, Pear and Beet Salad with grilled chicken, Roasted Red Pepper and Corn Soup. All of the food was delicious! Fresh mussels in beer broth, delicate buttery perch, a salad with generous toppings (especially tasty cheese!) and perfect vinaigrette. Fluffy bread, house made butter and generous pours on the wine with VERY fair prices. Finished with carrot cake (big enough for three ladies to share and still take some home!). Service is definitely on 'lake time' so go to McDonalds if you have to eat instantly. Not sure why folks comment on the stairs and decor, yep, it is upstairs, but it's Lake Huron blue interior is perfect for the setting and if you can't climb stairs that has nothing to do with the food!

The food was amazing, the views are terrific, and the staff is friendly! The best clam chowder I've ever had!! I can't wait to try all the other menu items. A hidden gem of the thumb!

Uri's Landing is named after Uriah Raymond, who came to what was then called Bark Shanty and opened a general store on the beach in 1850. This restaurant, which is one floor up from the Marina, is built on that same spot. I feel that it has, unquestionably, the best waterfront view of any restaurant north of Port Huron. Dress code is casual but most people wear sport clothes or nicer. The menu is varied and there are usually specials based on the freshest fare currently available. The fish here is great, especially the Lake Perch. You've got to watch yourself in this part of Michigan. In many restaurants what's offered as Walleye is often Alaskan Pollock, and if they call a fish Baby Perch, Jumbo Perch, or just Perch, ask if it's real Lake Huron Yellow Perch or not. It always is at Uri's This isn't a place where you'll be whisked to a table, have your meal in front of you in five minutes and find the bill on your table ten minutes after that. This is casual dining. Come in, have a second drink, order an appetizer and relax. Oh, and leave room for desert.
